Hi Sculpture students!
For this project you will creating a MOBILE sculpture. Your materials will be wire, yarn, fishing line and fabric- and any others you want.
Today you should: (RECORD ALL IDEAS IN YOUR SKETCHBOOK!)
1. Choose your "spirit animal" (An animal helper that has special meaning to you.)
By going the links to the Native American websites below.
By going the links to the Native American websites below.
2. Find and print images to include in your mobile.
(These should be images of things or situations in your life that you want
to have strength or power for...
or symbols of things that you want to keep safe.)
For example this is the list I began for myself:
- Protect my family (I want to represent my family with the symbol I use for home- the igloo).
- Help my creativity stay strong (I would find images of paint cans).
- Encourage me to exercise more (maybe an image of a tree for the "tree pose" in yoga).
- And others (that are more personal- I will create symbols for them so that only I will know what they are about. ;)
3. Work on drawings of some of your ideas.
